Header Problems

  • Header Problems

    • Why does it seem that when I change my header it takes it like 3-4 hours for it to actually change it. It seems like it would actually change it automaticlly doesn't it ?

Tell me if I'm doing something wrong here.

    • After uploading the new header, empty the cache on your browser and refresh the page. ;)

    • Well on IE7 I go to Tools > Internet Options > and choose the "Delete All" button, then I check to delete all offline stuff.

And it still shows the old banner.

So I deleted all the gp_header's on my Ftp that I had saved so there is no way the dang site is calling the image, but it still shows up on my pc, my friends pc doesn't show the banner (which is correct) and my wife's still shows the banner, it acts different for different people.

My stepmom's pc doesn't show the banner either, /me flames !

    • Joomla admin, look at the menu row on top, near the right is System. Click it, lower menu and clear all caches. Not only does your browser cache data, your Joomla install does too.

It's set in Global Configuration, cache tab.

    • When I login, I go to the "System" tab and all I see is System Info and Global Check-in, I'm using 1.0.0

    • I would recommend using 1.0.12 - old versions have security risk and have many bugs

    • It sounds definitely like a cache problem.

I was experiencing the same thing. IE often can be refreshed fully by pressing refresh a few times in a row, but FF loves to hold onto it's caches.

Go and grab the Joomla toolbar.

I have it purely for easy to access a cache cleaner.
