site template updating

- I have joomla 1.6 installed with Kuenna forums and tacheon template. my problem is I am tring to resolve an issue with the forum bb menu not showing up. I ran into the bigger problem my template will not update when i click save is there a read / write issue? i believe it is with the gantry framework itself when i installed that. if anyone knows of the file i need to chmod it would be helpful thx
