Another Newbie Question about Getting Started

    • I am launching a new site and I want to use the Modulus template. Do you recommend putting the site up without any demo content and adding each component as needed? Or is it better to install the demo material and work on editing the content?

    • if you are new I think you will find it very useful to start with the Rocket Launcher and works backwards until you have enough of your own content in. Then you can delete whatever things you do not need at that point. (imho) :cheesy:

    • Just my 2 yen...

I like to start a new site site with no content and work from there...

(For me, adding content to a new site is easier than editing / deleting content from a demo install.)

I always install the RL on localhost or a sub folder on my server for reference.

Then I use a stock install of Joomla w/o the sample data and apply the template and extensions.

If you want to go that route, you can see some notes here:

      www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=15...04899&rb_v=viewtopic

Never, never, never, never, never, never, never (did I say that enough? :D ) install a RL w/o sample data.

Anyway, having a copy of the RL with the sample data is really key to referencing how the demo is set up.

From there, you can use it as a reference to build from a 'bare bones' site.
