Help with Header & Background Using Tachyon 1.5

  • Help with Header & Background Using Tachyon 1.5

    • Hello,

There are several changes that I'd like to make to my front page (I only want these changes to reflect on the home page). I am using the Tachyon 1.5 template & the Jomsocial extension.

1st thing is that I would like to change the color of my header.

2nd, I would like to reduce the height of the header to make it more narrow.

3rd, I would like to remove the bar (that's indicated by the red arrows)...I'm not sure what this bar is. Maybe the menu bar?

4th, the default background where the text would go (white space) is a square. How possible would it be to change the shape from square to a circle and I would enter text within the circle?

I am a novice user...no coding experience except for copying/pasting so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

    • Hi, we can help you more if you post a link to your site. Also, it's better to post template specific questions in the template forum.

Having said that, some of what you're trying to do can be accomplished through the template manager so please read the tutorials that come with the template. The rest will be CSS coding.

It's not possible to turn the square into a circle as HTML elements are all square. You may be able to achieve that effect by creating a circle graphic and putting it into the CSS code. That type of customization is a bit outside of the support we offer here.

    • Hi team,

I would like some help on this
      My website is at foodyabber.com.au/

I will not be using any secondary menu-items so I do not need the extra height.
Also I want to make sure that the logo is centered height-wise.

      Many Thanks in Advance :D

    • Hi, in your logo widget, turn the auto size off. Instead adjust the width and height in your themes template.css file, in the CSS folder of your theme directory. Line 25 is where you can set that. Basically, how ever tall your logo is will be how tall the header is. The image you are using is 100px tall, but your logo doesn't take up that much vertical space, crop your logo image to make it as small as you can, then use the dimensions in the CSS file. Hope that helps.
