      HI

I searched on this subject, but did not find an equivalent case. Apologies if this is redundant.

I am using SWFObject to embed a banner/menu SWF at the top of my template, but it is not appearing.

      http://www.thefountain.com/joomla

When I first tried using the object embed code from Dreamweaver, all that showed was an empty rectangle the same color as the Flash tag's background color. It was like the SWF had loaded, but had nothing in it. I could right clik and get the Flash menu, so something was there.

So now I've switched to SWFObject, which I have used several times before. But the Javascript doesn't seem to execute in the body of my template. I've tried moving the script tag around, but nothing worked.

Is there an issue with Joomla! and using external Javascript files? I thought it would be easy to replace the header area with a SWF, but it hasn't been thus far.

      Thanks for any help

i use swfobject in joomla all the time, so no problems there.

    • Why do you edit and remove the body? It could have been helpful to someone with the same question, just add a Solve to the topic.

    • HI

I didn't see any need - It is quoted, and the solution is really what I wrote.

You can't use relative pathing to the Javascript file and the SWF. It needs to be absolute, using either the PHP variable for the site, or a static URL.
