    Joomla on Deadicated Server

Posted 13 years 4 months ago
    • Hey guys, I need a little help as I have been unable to find help anywhere else. I have a dedicated server with GoDaddy and I am getting permission error and other things all over the place. My site is working perfect of other managed servers, but I guess what I am looking for is what settings do I need to set on my dedicated server for my Joomla websites to work perfect. Also, what file permissions work best for a dedicated server? Full 777 or something more restricted. I run 770 permissions on other servers.

Any help and or being pointed in the right direction will be appreciated.

    • Normal settings for Folders: 755, Files: 644

Tweaked settings for Folders: 757, Files: 646

      I hope this helps.

Btw, stay away from GoDaddy if you can :)

    • Who would you suggest for hosting then? Did you have a bad experience?

    • HostGator and Rochen is pretty popular amongst our users.

Stay away from GoDaddy, 1&1 and Strato AG
