Mediatemple - New Host reccomendations?

Alright guys
well, after more downtime - that i havnt been made aware of - i have decided to move hosts.
you lot being all knowing - i figured id ask you what you would reccomend
i have been reading about mediatemple.net - but i dont quite get what there version of hosting is
it certainly sounds impressive!
currently i am with iipanel.net
who thus far have been good - there customer support is spot on (something my new host must match)
but they never tell me when there is planned maintenance on the server (no matter how much i suggest it)
which as you all will know - is a big thing, when you run a website
and its very annoying
so does anyone use mediatemple - how is it? hows there support?
or can you reccomend another host
