Seems like doing the install with the Rocket Launcher is the best way to go. However, when I try to ftp the files, there are always a few the don't upload and I can't figure out why. Ahhh... maybe I don't need thoses files anyway.... My host has Joomla on their site, and it can be installed automatically. So, what's the best way to get the templates added? Install from the server and add the templates or try a different ftp client? If I do add the templates to a server installed version, will the end result be the same? I won't be missing anything if I do it that way, will I? TIA
Depends on your host. Some aren't as friendly as others when using the auto-installers. (Fantastico, etc.) It's usually better to ftp the files up.
If your ftp client always seems to miss files, try reducing the number of concurrent connections. Fewer is better, sometimes slower, but at least the files get there.
Each time I've tried to upload the extracted files I get a discrepancy in the folder / file counts.
I found out that I can extract zipped files on my server so iInstead of extracting and uploading via ftp, I uploaded the zip file and extracted it on the server...
Extracted Elemental Rocket Launcher package on my desktop 2334 files / 291 folders
Extracted Elemental Rocket Launcher package on my server 2226 files / 287 folders
What gives, how can files be missing if I uploaded the zip file??
Should I give up, install the vanillia version with the auto installer on my ISP, then mod it?
