Templates Manager: Edit Style is missing content positions

  • Templates Manager: Edit Style is missing content positions

Posted 13 years 1 month ago
    • I have bought and installed rt_reflex 2.5
I would like to open the webistie with an article in the content a position and beside a menu. I'cant find the content positions in the Edit style manager. However if I look for all the postions I see the content postion still.
There is another problem: If I alter the mainbody postion with the slider in 9|3 and save the configuration and open again the mainbody configuration is again reset.

    • Content-top-a, -b, -c and content-bottom-a, -b, -c don't have layout controls in the backend.
They are different from other mod positions. The widths are calculated automatically based on the width of the main body-(content)-area. For example if you have mb-6 and have modules in content top-a and content top-b both will get a width of 3 (3+3=6)

For the second issue ... check if if you really have something in sidebar-a.
Perhaps you also have a template-copy assigned to a menu-item?

      Thank you for your help.
Last question: if I open the website demo.rockettheme.com/?template=reflex
I see in the three postions ( I suppose utility a-b-c?) (beneath the Rokgallery) a button ' Continue reading'. How can I implement such button in a HTML module? And to what kind of link does this button point?

      Thank you.
There is a little difference between this topic and the demo.
      For instance main-top a the button liink is : <a href="/jul11/extensions/styled-addons/rokgallery" class="readon"><span>Continue Reading</span></a> <div class="clear"></div>
      and not like: index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=59&amp;Itemid=68
I'am curious what is behind the original link?

    • You can link to what ever you like.
If you can use SEF-links or not depends on your Joomla settings.

And where might I find "features" like this documented; to identify when some "automatic" activity countermands every effort to impose structure? Two cases I'm wrestling presently:

      1. Graffito sidebar-a, sidebar-b mixing modules one or both around mainbody and have seemingly no consistent control of Templates Manager/Edit Style/Layouts/MainBody Positions. Sometimes does, sometimes doesn't save my settings. Why would sidebars show at all if no position is defined to hold the content?

      2. "Positions" slider and "Position Count" operate inconsistently, in my case when I choose to use 5 utility positions (a-e) or (a, c-f), or 6 utility positions (a-f).
