Add another google font

I want to use a google font but only in the header of the template. If i turn on GF and then choose the font I want from the pull down then the font shows up in various places in the template that I do not want. How can I get the font to show up just in the header?
I guess I can add this to the index.phpBut I am guessing this will get overwritten if there is an upgrade version in the future.<link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Oxygen' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>

- It will be overwritten with future upgrades but since you already have to take into account all the possible changes in the css styles you did you will also take this into account and everything will be ok
