I restored my new site from my wamp server

. Front end is working but I am having trouble accessing my article editing functions.
At one point I thought I had solved it by changing the file properties in my FTP server for the administrator files to 757. This made tiny mice and all editing functions available.
The reason I use 757 is because "public" is reported as the parent in file permissions.
However not too shortly after that I logged on to administrator and got a 505 screen.
I uploaded my files with the FTP information because I read that there can be a user conflict caused between the Apache Server and the FTP server. Since my site is on a virtual private server, it made more sense to use FTP where I can be assured that I am the only user.
As I am writing this it is occurring to me that maybe I should try changing the file properties on CPanel as well- which I will now try after asking advice from Liquid Web Support ( why I like Liquid Web, btw, they have great support!)
Other things done
Fixed the Database in File Extensions.
Changed the text filtering in global Configuration for the Super User to No Filtering.
Redirected the administrator file from my old site to my new site using Cpanel.

I had a long conversation with Liquid Web and they set all the file permissions to what they need to be and so I know that is not where in the solution lies. I have a support ticket open with them.
During teh conversation, I noticed that I cannot select URL Rewriting in Global configuration. I select it, save it and it jumps back to no although I renamed htaccess.txt to htaccess. Both in my Public_html directory at this time but Liquid Web didn't say that was a problem, which didn't occur to me as I am writing this post now. .
