SOLVED Plugins and bandwidth

    • I just recently did a site and in 10 days it was approaching its bandwidth limit of 2.0 GB. It seems to be an active site with a rocketheme WP template. It has both a youtube plugin and a Picas plugin. I looked at awstats and askimat and all seemed good and traffic seemed legitimate. It made me wonder if a youtube plugin or a Picasa plugin could effect my hosting account bandwidth. There is a movie that has alot of views and is 200 MB(whole movie) or so for SD and close to 1 GB for 720P but I set the plugin to a VGA setting.(640x480 = 200 MB) Does playing a movie with a youtube plugin route data through my server and count as part of my Bandwidth? Same with the Picasa plugin and viewing pictures. Probably a stupid question but trying to figure out this BW with no spam apparent. I viewed server logs too.

    • If it's on Youtube then it is using Youtube's bandwidth as the plugin is probably using an iframe.
