Layout Question

    • I am trying to figure out why some of my articles have sidebar-a modules on the left and some have it on the right. I read one of the solved posts that say you make an adjustment in the template settings. I do see where I change how many main body positions, etc. however I already have some articles on my site that look the way I want this article page to look so I'm not sure why I would have to change anything in the template settings.

Here is a page where the module "register to vote" is on the left:
      http://demochat.org/index.php/features

Here is the same module on a different page but it shows up to the right of the article instead of the left:
      http://demochat.org/index.php/aboutus

Here is a another page with modules on the left:
      http://demochat.org/index.php/resources

I just want to know how I make them appear to the left or the right when needed.

      Thanks,

      Corey

    • if you installed the rocket launcher version of the template there will be several duplicate styles for the template with varied settings assigned to different menu items

    • But that Is what I am asking. Where are these settings? As I stated in my initial post, I am aware of the "main body positions" settings within the template options. BUT, I have pages that do not seem to be following that setting. The links I presented above show that the same module is appearing on some pages to the left of the article and some pages to the right of hte article. I am trying to find where specifically I make this happen? For instance, on this page:
      demochat.org/index.php/aboutus

I would like to make the Register to Vote module appear on the left instead of the right like it does on the Get Involved page. However, I do not want to mess up any other pages as far as where the modules are located currently.

Again, I see where the settings are in the template otpions but I would like ot know where in teh module or article I tell it to show modules on teh left or right? I assume if I change that setting in the template options that it will force those settings onto all existing pages.

    • so there can be more than one copy of a template on a site. This allows for different settings and layouts based on different menu items (or pages) on the site. So open one of the other copies of the tachyon template in the tempalte manager and then check the layouts tab to see if it has a setting that is different from the default (or Master) copy of the template.

    • Ahh. Gotcha. Thank you. How do I tell an article to use one template verses another so I can control the layout?

    • in the template manager you select the assignments tab and then choose the menu item that you would like to use that particular template style.
