Hi guys
Just a quick question you may be able to help with.
What would you suggest as the best platform for staging dev sites for Joomla and Wordpress?

If only you need to see those sites during development then I would suggest some kind of local server environment (like xampp).
If you need to provide access for your clients also, then you can develop in subfolder of the domain on which final web site will reside - Check my services at: Mihha-Vision

I have also found that most hosts process index.html or default.html, etc.. before index.php, so, for some sites I put up a coming soon index.html, develop the joomla in place and once its all approved and good to go simply remove the index.html. tada..launch.
