no more ie7 - what about corporate sites

    • I have only just convinced one of my clients that ie6 is bad and they have made the jump beyond ie7 but some companies are not and are sticking with ie7.

I agree that ie6 is really bad but I didnt think ie7 was by the same token.

Are you unable to make the current crop of templates without ie7 ?

Would be interested to learn if others need to enable ie7 - a lot of big companies STILL use ie6 too.

    • I just checked one customer site and of all IE versions only 5% were using IE7 so that means it's only like 2% of all users that are using IE7.

It's not worth the extra time it takes to fix a site to IE7.

The only way to make big companies to upgrade their browsers is to drop support for older browsers. Then users will complain to the IT-support that their favorite sites are broken...

I have seen this happen IRL

If you are unsure what to do:

"Microsoft’s new Internet Explorer 10 web browser is set to arrive Oct. 26. Shortly thereafter, on Nov. 15, Google Apps will no longer support IE 8. The move will make Google one of the first major companies to drop support for Microsoft’s 3-year-old browser." From Webmonkey.

    • I tend to agree with you prim - I just didn't think ie7 was so broken. I knew about 6.
Still corporations are dinosaurs and you have to respect TRex,

      though I agree with you.
