Suggestions on a Products or Features Module...or how to use an existing module?

  • Suggestions on a Products or Features Module...or how to use an existing module?

    • Hello,

I am looking for some suggestions on a module that would allow me to list or show products or features.

This site is for a company that makes racing transmissions. One thing we want to do is feature customers that use their products. So, similar to a newsflash, we want to show the module on the main page with a pic and intro and when you click on it, you get the full story. However, I want also to be able to have a link or section to show all the customers so people can browse through and see. When I use newsflash, I don't see a way to have a link to list all the customer cars.

I thought perhaps we create a section for this, but is the only way to list them all to increase the count on how many are shown? I mentioned products because I think of this as a person clicking on aproduct category and getting that list of products(or articles).

I have been researching a lot but figured someone may have some ideas or suggestions on what to try...

      Thanks

    • I'm looking for a way to list products as well. Have you had any success on this topic?

    • Virtuemart is very good.

It can be run in "catalog only mode", which displays products, etc., but not prices or ordering information, if you don't want to actually handle orders through the site.

Beyond that, you can always create a content item (or even static content item) for each product, and include photos, testimonials, etc. You could link to this content item from the catalog, and create a very clean effect.

You might want to check out the slimbox effect available in the newer templates as well, it can make this sort of thing really look sharp.

    • I saw a module at joomlaworks that was like the tabs thing, but you could have liek page numbers on it instead of big tabs..perhaps something like that with a customer on each page tab..then they could just cycle through?
