    Anyone willing or able?

Posted 12 years 1 month ago
    • Anyone willing or able to help a fella out?

I don't have access to create a new topic in the extensions forum. The issue is regarding the RokNewsPager plugin.

Please see the page here... mentorsharbor.com/blogs/voa-blog.html

When I click on the Title link, it originally took me to the Demo "About Joomla page before I shut it off. Now it directs to an error page rather than the full article.

I would think that the fix would be addressed in the Solved threads but I cannot locate one.

Please direct me to a thread or please tell me what I can do to fix this.

      Thanks

Boy do I miss the days when that forum was free (or included with any other subscription).

    • I'm not sure if i understand this correctly - You have disabled/deleted the article that the link was supposed to lead to?

Btw, does it work if you turn off SEF?

To help reduce confusion, I turned the 'demo article' back on...

Trying going to the page and clicking on the link now.

For whatever reason, clicking on the Title of the article does not take the reader to the full article. I don't know why, so I can't figure out how to fix it or what to search in the forums or Google for a solution.

I am thinking that creating a WP site using the same theme might be a better solution than trying to keep it all Joomla. Don't know why that didn't occur to me before now. lol

    • I get to this page: mentorsharbor.com/component/content/arti...e-of-stone-soup.html which contains:
      About Joomla!
      What is Joomla?

Joomla is an award-winning content management system (CMS), which enables you to build Web sites and powerful online applications. Many aspects, including its ease-of-use and extensibility, have made Joomla the most popular Web site software available. Best of all, Joomla is an open source solution that is freely available to everyone.

      What Joomla! can do?

Joomla is used all over the world to power Web sites of all shapes and sizes. For example:

      Corporate Web sites or portals
      Corporate intranets and extranets
      Online magazines, newspapers, and publications
      E-commerce and online reservations
      Government applications
      Small business Web sites
      Non-profit and organizational Web sites
      Community-based portals
      School and church Web sites
      Personal or family homepages

      Site and Administrator

Your site actually has two separate sites. The site (also called the front end) is what visitors to your site will see. The administrator (also called the back end) is only used by people managing your site. You can access the administrator by clicking the "Site Administrator" link on the "This Site" menu or by adding /administrator to the end of you domain name.

Log in to the administrator using the username and password created during the installation of Joomla.

      Learn More

There is much more to learn about how to use Joomla! to create the web site you envision. You can learn much more at the Joomla! documentation site and on the Joomla! forums.

      VISIT JOOMLA!

Is this not what you want? :)

    • Well, that's a SEF-setting in whatever component you are using or in mod_rewrite.

You can get a 3rd-party SEF component here: extensions.joomla.org/extensions/site-management/sef if you don't want to edit mod_rewrite yourself.

    • I have decided to go ahead and create a WordPress site using the same theme to mirror appearances.

I appreciate you taking your time to help me out to this point.

      Cheers!
