Presets works only for defaults ones

I tried to add a new preset by
1. create an override from master and have this as my base, from the override save as a preset which it seems to do. But I can see that the cookie doesnt get set for the custom preset name I chose in my case 'ls' so the url?presets=ls.
I am trying to locate where this functionality is as it doesnt seem to be Joomla core. So its something you have added. I checke most of the scripts and did a search for 'presets=' in the source without luck..
