Change/edit templates from the front end only on section/category

I am a newbie - newbie. I am not rliskey, I am his partner. We tried but, where unable to get a seperate log in for me, so I am using his.
Does anyone know how to change/edit a template from the front end, but only on specific, content items, sections or categories. We want to give our end users the ability to edit the look and feel of the pages (content items) that have been assigned to them.
I have looked in the Joomla extensions directory the forums and haven't seen anything that might work. I would appreciate any help any of you can offer. - Last Edit: 17 years 6 months ago by rliskey.
