Are you using Joomla 1.x or Joomla 1.5?
Assuming J1.x, in the admin backend/ Site/ Global Configuration/ Site tab - is the name of the favicon (favicon.ico) in the Favorites Site Icon area? [see attached image] - The member formerly known as Roland Deschain

Strange; I see it momentarily when using FireFox, though it disappears in about 3 seconds, and I see it constantly when using IE7.

Roland, I have J1.5. And from back end I have favicon in FF & IE. From front only with IE, and for a split second with FF. Mystery! - Real Estate in New York & Florida!

I've had problems before simply renaming a jpg to .ico, so wondering if you used a program/site to create it, or simply renamed an image file? Other than that, I am at a lost...

I created it on
www.favicon.cc
and did not renamed it. I think it's something to do with FF.
