MyBlog or standard article publishing?

I've been publishing posts on my website
www.onemorething.co.uk
but I find that Joomla lacks in a couple of areas including the ability to add for example categories on the fly. Is it worth switching over to MyBlog which I've heard it very good or is there anything out there that can make my life easier?
If I did switch over my MyBlog would it automatically take all my content into the system?

hi
after just having a quick look at your site i'd stick with what you're doing and live with having to add the categories as and when - otherwise look at wordpress - not MyBlog
MyBlog is quite literally just a component and quite handy if you want to 'add' a blog to a site full of other stuff but if you're running your site just as a blog then you can stick with what you've got and deal with the hassles or use something specifically for blogging, like wordpress .. - www.c3p0.se - sweden

I kinda like the new My Blog Dashboard.. it has become a nice little front end editor,, not just for blogging,, but if one assigns sections to the my blog component in the admin area it alows the editor to be used by members to Create , Submit and edit far more than just a blog. With it being able to automaticly assign a private folder for image managment and the ability to tag and embed video with out no hassle makes it a must have to any site that requires community content submission as a feature.
Honestly My Blog is the best money I have spent for a component.

I'll second that, almost.
I am a Fabrik fan, given that some sites I am working on are data-driven and I needed the ability to easily create tables/gridviews based on user-submitted data...but My blog and jom comments combined are pretty nice toys.
I installed the extra modules (tag cloud, latest, archieve, bloggers, top comments, etc) that came with MyBlog and the page has a look and feel of a 'real' blog.
I found a couple sql issues just this morning and Azrul already updated the svn and all is well...support seems to be improving over there.
Now if only he would add ratings, I wouldbe good to go.

Thanks for the comments, Azrul are really good as I already use the comment module on my site.
Think I will stick with the standard Joomla component, does anyone know however is there is any kind of module or other component out there that let you tag content?
So for example I could tag an article about an iPod price reduction as iPod & Apple Store and not just stick it in the iPod category.
Any ideas?

I do use metadata on all my posts but does anyone know of a module that can index this by keyword so for example someone could click on ipod and then all posts tagged with ipod would be shown.
