Hi Nicole... check out my website that just went live recently... I have a full Virtuemart installation with extras. Let me know if you need any additional help
I highly recommend Virtuemart over any other shopping systems out there. Like Joomla, it takes some time altering the stock layout to your specific needs. I am not familiar with PHP, but I do have HTML and CSS experience to add the little changes. You can get yourself into some trouble if you are a noob, but if you backup regularly, replacing bad code is simple. There is also a large forum for any needed assistance too. My cart took almost a month to setup (couple hours a day) with all of the custom images and tweaks that I applied... such as automated report printing, shipping labels, completed order editing, administrator order editing. The best part is that all of it was free. (except for the SSL certificate and hosting)
**Important note - When installing Joomla, remember that Virtuemart is not Joomla 1.5 compatible.
I would go to virtuemart.org to check out all of it's features before diving in.
setting up on public_ssl do i copy just the vm folder to install got it working with duplicate directories... i am sure i am missing something simple.. j 1.5 vm 1.1 rc 3 about to try out latest nightly build as the progress of this product has been interesting... good work really.
Or should i copy the files to the ssl folder and do a web URL install?
