Very disappointed

    • The templates appear flushed far right (off the page, mods, content section, etc).
This is after installing joomla manually.

Sounds like you may have too many top menu items published causing your page to push out. This is normal with a standard Joomla install..

..But would really like to see a link to your site to verify.

EXACTLY. Mike nailed it - too many menu items breaking the layout - simple to diagnose and fix.

To the threadstarter - you do understand that the RocketLauncher packages INCLUDES Joomla?

    • As I stated in my posts, this is a brand new installation of joomla. I have not published any items at all. This is a new installation. I have tried rocketlauncher and explained what happens when I installed it properly according to tutorials and instructions on this site. A manual install of joomla produces the results I mentioned above with all content flush right. This as I mentioned before occurs only with rocket theme templates and not with any other. I have tried free templates (those included in joomla installation). Nothing has been published to the site. What I encountered should not occur according to what has been presented on this site.
Also Rocket Launcher (in particular with media mogul template) is what I wanted to use, including sample data, module extensions. If I cannot get it to work on the site it indeed has been a waste of my money.

    • Pj, first and foremost, when you install joomla you get some 'sample content'. What that means is that it's fake content to show you what a site could look like. Most free templates, and some 'basic' commercial templates, will work fine with this 'sample' content. However. That sample content is extremely limiting and very few designs will work will with it.

RocketTheme templates require some modification to the sample content. That does not mean they are broken or they don't work, it just means that you will need to modify the modules and menus to work best with the design.

This is something you have to do anyway for your own website, as there's really not much point of publishing a website with the joomla sample content, as all you will end up with is a joomla demo site.

This is one of the main reasons we release RocketLauncher packages, so you basically get 'demo content' that better suits these particular templates. Instead of just telling us it doesn't work, why don't you try answering some of these helpful folks that are doing their level best to give you a working solution.

It sounds like the RocketLauncher package is your best bet, and if you can install a stock joomla, you should be able to install the RocketLauncher (because it's stock joomla + sample content).

So first did you watch this install video:

      demo.rockettheme.com/jul07/media/video_t...ncher_full.v1.2.html

      ?

what are your issues specifically with the rocketlauncher???

    • PJ - as some of the others have mentioned, it sounds like some of the files are not making it when you FTP them to your host. I too have had this problem and you need to review the log files to see what is or isn't making it. When I use FileZilla to transfer files, it only allows me 5 connections at a time so some of my files tend to fail to upload so I have to go to the "Failed Transfers" screen and reset them to try again. After a few iterations everything works just fine.

There are plenty of folks around to help you resolve this. All you need to do is provide a link and a description of your issue.

P.S. - if someone knows of a work around for the 5 connections issue I mentioned please let me know. :)

    • I replied to your original thread in the MediaMogul forum. For ColorMatic onwards, we setup Solved Boards as sub/child boards. In these child boards, all solved topics are placed from the main board and the most common issues are *stickied*. By *sticked*, I mean that the topics will appear at the start of the Solved Board so members can easily browser the major issues.

This type of issue with sample content is quite common and is asked in the forums quite a bit. Therefore, the solution to this problem is placed in the Solved Board, as a sticky, at the very top of the MediaMogul board here: www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?t=24074&rb_v=viewtopic

Hopefully, if you have any issues, the solved boards will already have the answer and you can resolve your issues swiftly :)
