Hello all. I have a couple of Joomla questions and I find this board to be very helpful so I hope I can get some help here.
I need to strip down a Joomla site to the bare basics. I mean basics. Essentially I want the login for the Joomla site, the database and MAYBE one component to post updates to.
I have this site that needs to have a database on the backend. Being a database novice (is there a level below novice?) and having some experience with Joomla, I thought it might be best to start with a Joomla site and work back from there.
How do I begin to strip down a Joomla site and put the elements I need into a static HTML page? Any tutorials out there? Anyone with any experience doing this that can point me in the right direction?

At Joomla! you can find tutorials on the basics and of course more advanced features of Joomla!

provides a tutorial which serves as an introduction to creating Joomla! templates. It covers the essential files and code needed to create a basic template. The code is presented so it can be cut and pasted with very little modification needed.
