Left inset pushing down blog items - RT Mixxmag

Does anyone know what causes this? Frontpage looks fine but the exact same items in Section/Blog are pushed down by the left inset (screen shots below). I'm sure its got something to do with CSS float/clear and I've tried various combinations with no success. Publishing more modules in left inset pushes them down farther, so something about that module position is causing it.
