..being great for news layouts, I have yet to see a template tailored to truly take advantage of them.
Would someone PLEASE create a legitimate news portal template in the vein of FoxNews.com or USAToday.com so we can maximize the potential offered K2/CCK?
Joomlart's Teline II was a highly popular pre-CCK attempt at this and I still see people in my industry trying to make this theme work. Surely with the advent of K2/CCK, one of you template clubs can finally make this happen?

- I'd love something like this too, but if you take a look at what is coming up in Joomla 1.6 you can see why people are reticent about committing to things like K2 - in 1.6 Joomla will have nested categories meaning limitless category depth and PERHAPS a tagging system so that articles can be in more than one place at once. There will also be a more flexible ACL, so as you can imagine committing time to go off on a K2 tangent for the sake of 4 months would seem a bit of a wild goose chase.

Unless 1.5 templates/extensions work out of the box on Joomla 1.6, the masses won't be using J1.6 in 4 months. 14 months might be more accurate. We've been down this road before.

From my understanding of K2, you should be able to replicate that layout no problem within its current setup. Have you tried?
K2 is a very versatile component and just because it isn't 'demoed' as such, doesn't mean it can't be done. - James Spencer / Developer & Support / Hull, UK

C'mon James. You know know I would have already done it if I could do it.
So you're saying that by using nothing but the K2 component I can change my Versatility 4 theme homepage layout to be a replica of FoxNews, USAToday or Joomlart's Teline II? Is that what I'm hearing?

Hi,
Am I right that you would like to use Versatility 4 in combination with K2 and are stuck with K2 not using the style sheet of Versatility? If yes, I have the same problem. I just wanted to setup our new company site and thought I can use K2 for managing all content, however the content has a complete different look. Would be glad to see the guys from RocketTheme to implement the Versatility Stylesheet in for K2.
