    Custom Toolbar Menu & Submenus

Posted 13 years 10 months ago
    • MC is AWESOME! This is easily the best admin template for Joomla that I've seen in a long time. So VERY WELL DONE RT!

However, I do have an issue with it that make it not usable for me when it comes to using it for clients.

Feature Request (before it is usable for me)
Custom Toolbar with submenus - the ability to make custom links, remove some default items and create custom submenus would make it usable (yea just that one would bring me over)

I know I can already edit the toolbar by modifying the rtmenuhelper.class.php file but the fact that I have to code the changes is what pulls me out of using the template. I know it isn't that hard to do but having to do it for many clients it will become way too time consuming to use the template as I can save much more time using extensions.joomla.org/extensions/access-...-access-control/9040 - which also allows limiting buttons from users but allowing super admins full access to all the items.

I would very much like to use this template so please add this feature.

    • Yep, I agree that having a sub menu system that you could selectively turn off and on would do the trick for sure. It just goes to show ya, you can please some of the people some of the time and ... BTW, I just renewed my membership for another year.

    • That would be really nice. What it would require is a whole new component that basically manages and maintains an admin menu hierarchy. Kind of like com_menus for managing the frontend menu structure. This is quite a bit of work though and really, it's something that should be done by the core of joomla imho. I know the adminpraise3 is supposed to have something along these lines, perhaps we can support that format when it's released.
