I've been trying to take advantage of the new iframe capabilities for facebook business pages but keep running into an issue.
I can assign a smaller template (Like afterburner) and adjust it to 520px by adding /index.php?template=rt_afterburner_j15 for the canvas page in the settings.
I've even assigned a separate menu just for facebook and assigned it to the afterburner template.
However, sometimes Joomla is getting confused. So even if I have assigned per menu items to a template it's not respecting it.
For example showing the Afterburner template on the main site. So I've had to disable the by menu item assignment.
Joomla System Page Cache is not active.
Anyone have any issues like this?
I'm looking for a way to force the afterburner template if in facebook but use much of the same content.
it gets confused whenever you have the same content that is assigned to different templates (via menu items). I had the same problem with using some of TapTheme's mobile templates. I ended up just making a mobile section and duplicating articles. I would love to know if there is a better way.

One thing that I've been playing with on both J! and WP sites is to serve up the same content from the main site, but on a subdomain using a different template. (520px wide) so that I can have a different menu but the same content. :cheesy:
Is an example. Still messing with the height and width issues when adding modules which seems strange though. But you get the idea. Feel free to Like me while you're there!
But it's been a little cumbersome so I think I may even buy this and play with it.
The facebook application is set up as a subdirectory that uses the content from the main site with a different menu and template thanks to Metatemplate pro.
If you try and access the subdirectory outside if facebook it will just redirect you to the main site.

for the likes and comments, I was also able to add the resize javascript plug in so that there's no scroll bars. Additionally, I modified it so that the likes and comments are tied to the main site instead of the subdomain.
This was a time consuming project but going to be well worth it for some of my clients!
