  • Can You Use a Designer's Work w/ Joomla?

    • I am a huge fan of RocketTheme, but I do have some opportunities to help folks with their sites who want their own site graphic build. Is this possible through Joomla sans a Theme? Right now, what I am thinking I can do is possibly find the best theme (preferably RocketTheme) that suits the functional needs of the site and the hand over the Source Files to the designer so that they can create the graphics for the site within the existing framework. Is this the best way of handling this? Have any of you done this before? If so, what obstacles did you run into?

      If this isn't a good option, any other other suggestions?

      This is what happens for some of my customers. We establish their needs and therefore functionality. If we see a RT template that is close we use it and then modify graphics and css as required.

      If there are no suitable templates from RT then we take the Gantry base template and start from there.

      Obviously the more work to be done, the bigger the bill. Most clients are happy with smaller graphical changes rather than major overhauls.

      Sounds like if I give the source files over to the designer, they can work it out and keep it to spec...
