Today I experienced a big issue on my server as the php was updated and threw a legacy template into a tailspin:
The problem is caused by a recent update to PHP engine on the server. Today, it was upgraded to PHP 5.3. I see that the site is using an old version of Joomla (1.15.9). The current version is 1.5.23.
As a temporary fix, I added the following line to the .htaccess file: AddHandler application/x-httpd-php52 .php
This sets the account to use PHP 5.2.
Please note that this is just a temporary fix. You need to upgrade the Joomla installation as soon as possible to the latest version. Please note that old versions of Joomla contain many security vulnerabilities, which can easily be used to hack the site.
Now I know we need to update sites...and this is one I did for someone several years ago...the question is this:
Is the new php going to do this to any other templates...: The template I had issue was a Rocket install of Metamorph 2...
