Just showing text on a separate page

I am a newbee in Joomla, so forgive me if I ask stupid questions. I use Carbonation as a template and I just want to make a page with text. And a link to that page. How can I make an empty page and then just put text on it? No newsitmes with introduction text and such, just plain text in colums. Can anyone help me out?

It would be a great idea to read the Joomla! manual, very informative.

What you would do is go to Admin > Content > Static Content Manager > New
Insert your content in there and save.
Link it in Admin > Menu > mainmenu > new > Link-static content and away you go
