SOLVED Search Tips

    • Can anyone clue me into better (more advanced) search in the forums? There doesn't seem to be any type of boolean search options, or I can't find them. So if I search for 'Top menu" I get every frigging post with those two words in it. There is one post out there talking about a top executive who was looking at a menu! Not real useful if I'm looking for comments about the top menu in my template.
I understand that my problem is probably already solved, but that's not helpful if I get over a thousand hits in my search. I would rather pay for support than to read thru 1061 posts, looking for the thread that has my answer in it.

    • I have. Unless I'm misunderstanding how to use it. When I follow that link and put 'Top Menu 'in as keywords, and leave the selection at 'Search for all terms or use query as entered' I get :
Search found 16654 matches: top menu
      The second hit is:
complex to assign all modules to 3, 4 or up to 6 language depending menus with large number of menu-items... And on top of this: How can i tell the "user", that he has to find out, what moduls has ...

In some 'advanced' searches, putting a phrase in quotation says 'look for exactly this phrase', not just 'look for any combination of these words'.

Is there some way to do this in this forum?

    • You have to use the Search in Forums and select your template.

Yes, the phpBB3 forum needs a better search function. Nothing we can do about that unfortunately.

    • OK. "T'hat's as good as it gets!" is an answer. :)
