Ok everyone, I finally figured this out and it was a complete dumba** move on my part. I found that the problem "magically" went away. Tracing my steps back to see what I had done moments before I found that I had disabled one menu selection from my main menu. Toggling back/forth and the problem appears/disappears. This particular menu item was just a separator for a set of dropdown child menu items except for one small thing... I had selected 'Alias' instead of 'Separator' and did not provide an internal URL.....
Cole, your suggestion to use the native SEF is a very good one. The reason i am hesitant is that I currently have over 700 pages cached at google, yahoo, live, etc all using sh404SEF URL's and i do not want to lose those links. With sh404SEF I can import/export the current redirects.
I REALLY APOLOGIZE to all of the people that I missed their questions and comments about this post. There was a brief time my E-Mail address was wrong and I was not getting updates about any posts here on RT.
Since 2008, (I cannot believe it has been 3 years since I wrote this) I have learned even more about SEF and SEO, in fact I am still amazed that the information I wrote above was as good as it is.
Now on with it, To all of the people that I missed answering, please let me know and I will answer them right away.
Thanks for all of the kind words,
Jeff Brown
