    Migration method

    • I am trying to figure the best way to migrate an existing site to a Rocket Theme template. The site currently uses a free template from Joomlashack and you can view it here:

      http://www.soncoastchrysalis.org

      I have copies the site over to a developmental sub-domain for testing only and installed the template but it it hard and laborious to get it set up like the demo.

      I have thought about using the Rocket Laucher version and import my SQL database but I am not sure if this will trim the setup time.

      Any ideas on the quickest may to do this?

    • i think the best way to do this would be by creating a test environment, e.g. yourdomain.com/new

      then copy over your site to that directory, create a copy of the database and use that instead of the database for your live site

      then install the template and play. when you are ready move it over to yoursite.com

      Rocketlauncher package comes with fresh joomla install as it already has everything of a demo template

      1) Clear your browser cache if changes dont reflect
      2) Provide link to your site to help us help you better
      3) Use in firebug
