In global configuration under SEO settings, you've got "Use Apache mod_rewrite" is absolutely necessary that this is enabled?

I'm no expert on this....
Seems to work without using "Use Apache mod_rewrite".
However, it seems not using it, SEF won't use any of the rules in the .htaccess file.
