    What's up with K2?

    • I've been trying K2 (version 2.1) and have a pretty good handle on it now, but it took me a while to learn it.

      I went to the Documentation area on the K2 (joomlworks.gr) website, but there was almost nothing posted there. I went to their forum and there were many questions, but hardly any responses to them.

      What up with K2? It seems like a powerful component and receives much attention here on the RT site.

      Also, are there any K2 tutorial resources that I'm missing - other than the stuff on the template demos?

      BTW, I forgot to mention that on the Joomla Extensions site, K2 received mixed reviews and the main concern seemed to be the proprietary nature of K2.

      Many forums including this one ignore words shorter than 4 characters. This means you can't search fo "K2" in the forum.

      Unfortunately, there are lots of things I'd like to search on which are less than 4 characters. "SEO" is one.

      The RocketTheme forums isn't at fault as this seems to be a feature of many forums, but Jeez, don't the forum programmers know that searching for 2 and 3 character terms is important in our world?

      Thankis for letting me gripe and moan. :P

    • The K2 Site is a mess since they chose to use ning (IMHO), you can't build a compnent website with the need for heavy forum use based on a community site such as ning.

      Just my 2 cents.

      And yeah I tried going to online help in K2 from the component and got a 404.

      I guess it's too early. The most hopeful thing I read about K2 is that these features may, in the near future, make their way into the Joomla core. Maybe 1.6?
