The Category List particle provides a quick and simple list of categories based either on your CMS content or a custom list created in the particle's settings.

Settings

These options affect the main area of the particle, and not the individual items within.

Option	Description
Particle Name	This is the name of the particle used for back end management. It does not appear on the front end.
Content Source	Choose between Particle and Joomla as the Content Source.
Title	Enter a title for the particle that appears on the front end.
Read More Label	Customize the text you want to have appear in the read more link.
Read More Link	Customize the URL you want the read more link to go to.
Read More Target	Set the target for the read more link. You can choose between Self which opens the link in the current tab or New Window which opens links in a new tab.

Particle Item Options

These items make up the individual featured items in the particle.

Option	Description
Item Name	The item name becomes the title of the category item.
Featured	Decide whether you want the item to be featured or not.
URL	Customize the URL you want the category title to send people to.
Target	Set the target for the link. You can choose between Self which opens the link in the current tab or New Window which opens links in a new tab.

Categories Options

These options apply if Joomla is selected as the content source.

Option	Description
Categories	Enter/Select the categories of articles this particle will display.
