Dominion fusion menu behaving oddly

Hi, i've recently started having an issue with the fusion menu on the dominion template. Ever since i upgraded to joomla v1.5.2 i cannot activate the mootools 1.2 plugin without it causing the child items on certain menu options behaving 'oddly'.
I have a 2 column sub menu, the review genre option has a sub menu which when running the older version of mootools will open immediately when it is highlighted. However when i activate the mootools 1.2 plugin, if i highlight the review genre item, no child menu appears. If i firstly move the cursor (highlight) the A-Z reviews option, then move to review genres, the child menu item will open. This behaviour is constant. I've tried disabling some plugins that i thought might interfer but no luck so far. I've also tried non-centered dropdowns but no luck. I've tried this in IE8, FF 3.6.8 and Opera 10.61 and it's the same everytime.
I'm running Joomla 1.5.20, dominion version 1.5.11, gantry version 3.0.9

I'll keep the mootools 1.2 plugin active for tonight/2moro although i don't want to leave it active for days. I hope you understand.
I also want ot say that i think Rockettheme makes superb templates
