Panacea Rotator Issues

  • Panacea Rotator Issues

    • Hello,
      I seem to be having issues with the panacea rotator settings. If you see from the front page the rotator still shows up with the 3 panes. Even though I only have one selected. I've cleared cache, history, etc and still no luck.

      How do I get only one image to appear and not have the three dots and navigation to show?

      Another question would be how does one edit the text on that rotator ?

      See the video >> screencast.com/t/a7RqakrX4

      please advise

    • Hi Jason,

      Thanks for the video - great way to show a problem. 8)

      When you go into the template admin, the settings you are working on are the default settings.

      If you click on the 'menu' option at the top and select 'Home' then check the settings for rotator. If there is a tick in the left hand box next to the rotator settings then this signifies that these settings will override the default settings for the menu option shown. It may be that you have the rotator set for 3 images on the home page.

      Hope this makes sense. Let us know if that solves the problem.

      Regards

    • HI David,

      thanks. 1st issue resolved. One other thing that I didn't see instructions on was how to add/edit the text that appears in the rotator. For ex. on this site youranswersinsight.com/ you see "chooser" and "absolute style control..." in the rotator piece. Where is that content pulled from or turned on and off?

      thanks

    • Hi Jason,

      The content is being taken from the section/category that you set in the template admin, under the rotator settings.

      This image is hidden for guests.
      Please log in or register to see it.

      Each article contains the image and text for the rotator. The content is formatted in the article and you can see the actual code by checking the articles in your demo site. Make sure you view the article in html mode so you can see the relevant tags. I have placed an example below for others who may be following this post.
      <div class="rotator-preview">
          <div class="rotator-preview-img">
          <a href="index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=85&amp;Itemid=141"><img src="images/stories/demo/frontpage/rotator2.jpg" alt="Rotator Screenshot" width="280" height="157"/></a>
          </div>
      </div>

      <div class="rotator-text">
      <span class="rotator-line1">Introducing the new Background</span>
      <span class="rotator-line2">Rotator</span>
      <span class="rotator-line3">...for automated image and content rotation.</span>
      </div>

      <hr id="system-readmore" />

      Hope this helps.

    • Hi Jason,

      If you look at my picture it shows section as Demo Content and category as FPRotator.

      Please check your articles by using the selection fields at top right of article manager.

      If the details in your template admin show different section/category then that is where you will find the article.

      Hope this helps.

    • Hey,

      I had a quick follow up. How can I get rid of the image behind the main image on the page. It looks like a fanned out image behind the picture of the girl.

      thanks

    • Hi Jason,

      The only way to remove the backgorund image is to create a blank image to match the backgound. Rotator needs at least one image enabled in order to work.

      Hope this helps.
