When I realized my blog had been spammed, I deleted the user in the Admin panel, which caused the entry to disappear from the Blog manager (smart blog). Unfortunately, it still shows on the website! I suppose the operations had to be done in the reverse order (delete the post first, then the user).
If someone knows a trick for cleaning this up, I would appreciate it.
I have captcha on all my forms except for the login registration, as it does not seem to be an option in this version of Joomla (1.5.17). If there are workarounds for installing this, I would also appreciate it. Thanks
The solution was to un-install the blog components one-by-one, then re-install the blog. Fortunately, there were no other entries in the blog besides the one from Latvian Spambot.
We also found a button on the registration module that requires the user to click on a link in an email to activate the registration. Hopefully this works as well as Captcha??
