Updating a Rockettheme Gantry Template

    • I think it would be very helpful for a Rockettheme employee to provide detailed instructions on upgrading your templates, both template and Gantry.

The problem I had in upgrading a template was the param.ini in the template file is CHMOD at 555. In order to upload via ftp I changed it to 755 and was only able to CHMOD it back to 555 through my control panel. What I did was copied all the other files over the older files. But there is no mention to upgrade Gantry in these sections. I have learned there are various packages, and would appreciate knowing when to use which as found here:

      code.google.com/p/gantry-framework/downloads/list

Even though I changed the param.ini back to 555 and did not know to update gantry, when I opened gantry it was totally gone and thus my site broken with an error that the param.ini was writable, even though it wasn't.

Thus, thorough step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated.

Furthermore, I just installed the latest rocketlauncher version of Crystalline only to find Gantry telling me it is out of date, and I would like to know which one to pick and any special instructions.

      Thank you.

    • Hi again, i've already answered this in your other thread:

      www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=33..._v=viewtopic#p615984

Can you please use that thread instead? 8)

Upgrading the Gantry framework is easy:

      1. Download the file.
      2. Go to Joomla's Install/uninstall > Components
      3. Uninstall the Gantry framework.
      4. Install the new Gantry framework.

      "I changed the param.ini back to 555"

Why do that? params.ini should be 644 - It's default in Joomla!

    • I don't think you work for Rockettheme, for you are giving wrong information. I actually was helped far more professionally by Kat. If you look into the template folder you will see param.ini is 555 by default installation! My problems are solved. I don't need any more "help" from you please.
