    • Hello,

I am having a very strange issue I need help with if possible.

I am having problems with the paths that are being generated to link to my database for the style sheets. I can't figure it out. When you goto the homepage all seems well but when you try to click through the site, the content is there but the CSS style sheets are not being used. Even in the back end administrator control panel the CSS is failing.

This is happening on all my joomla website that are hosted on my server with Godaddy. Does anyone know the problem?

      www.rockstarmediabar.com
      www.flashboombang.com/FBBstudiosLLC
      www.maxsavage.com

      and the list goes on.....

      Please help!

    • Hi there,

Perhaps a minor glitch with GoDaddy as I have just been to all 4 sites and everything appears fine. The exception being the last url just went to an advert page.

If your problem is solved then please edit your original post by placing SOLVED at the start of the title and selecting the green tick as an icon.

      Many thanks. 8)

    • I am having the same problem on almost all my sites if not all of them at this time. My site admin page is non-accessible (sort of). I can access one page at a time by removing the index.php in the url. I have 3 separate godaddy accounts along with my customers accounts. Hope this is a simple glitch. Granted I have all my DBs backed up and files saved but if it comes down to a quick mod re-write or patch...this is going to take me a month to fix. Any suggestions anyone?

David posted the pic attachment (thanks David).... This is the same thing I am getting.

      Any help would be great,

      Brian

P.S. As I said, the Index.php seems to be the problem when it comes to the admin section. Even though some of the latest RT templates do not need an apache mod re-write for SEF urls.... I have enabled, disabled, done the mod re-writes, not done them....and have tried everything...no success. The sites are fine by the way, just can't do anything with them...or I can but what would take me 2 minutes now takes me 10 minutes.

    • Hi there,

Without a link to your site it is quite hard for us to provide the best solution due to so many variables. Can you please post a link to the problem and we will do our best to assist you.

Can you PM me with a temporary Super Admin access please and I will take a look to see what the cause may be.

      Thanks :)

    • Hi Brian,

      Thanks for the login.

I have disabled the SEF in global configuration and all works properly. This means that either you have forgotten to rename the htaccess.txt file to .htaccess or the default settings don't work for GoDaddy.

If the latter, the you need to check with GoDaddy how the htaccess file should be set up.

      Hope this helps 8)

    • David,

I appreciate your help and promptness in this matter. Unfortunately the issue at hand with my admin areas are still a problem. This started about 4-5 days ago. I have multiple separate hosting accounts with Godaddy and all my sites have worked fine up until they (godaddy) switched up to Joomla 1.6.X as their default joomla set up...

This change (through godaddy to 1.6) for "new installs" should not make a difference though. I am having this same issue on over 150 sites spread out over 3 completely separate accounts. Some of the sites I have, I have not touched in weeks and they are having all the same issues. All my sites and customer accounts prior to 4-5 days ago were SEO / SEF friendly and the htaccess.txt files were all re-written to .htaccess and the necessary changes had been made correctly, making the sites, both front and backend always fully functional and seo / sef. Godaddy is at a loss and so am I. I feel that it is an error on their end cause I just couldn't mess up 3 seperate accounts not including mine...and over 125 independent DBs / Mysqls. If you hear anything or have any suggestions, please let me know.

The primary problem is... I can access my admin, but after the first click, it goes looks like the screen shot David put up who started this thread... I can edit my backend but everytime I switch areas in the backend the URL is injected with administrator/index.php/administrator/index.php. If I remove from this from the url index.php/administrator/index.php the admin page I am requesting then shows up, but then injects another index.php again.... I then have to delete index.php out of the url, reload, then I able to make changes... You can see how time consuming it is. All my sites, my account and 3 of my customers separate accounts worked fine as I said up until 3-4 days ago. I'm going to have to contact godaddy again tonight and unfortunately raise hell. I had a TON of work to do today and nothing could get really accomplished.

Again, any "thoughts out of the box" ideas you might have.... It would really help.

      Thanks again,

      Brian

    • David,

Handled the issue. Being that I have been with godaddy for over 5+ years, having 3 separate accounts not including mine and a total of 300+ domain names with them... This was the first time they basically said "we don't see a problem, sorry, it's your problem" they then proceeded to blame rockettheme / the templates (but I have other templates installed and even those admin sections were down).

The issue was this. I have shared hosting. Godaddy just updated their joomla install to "ONLY" handle 1.6.X (currently 1.6.1). Ok, yes you can do a manual install of the 1.5.22 version, prior to solving the issue I had, I was getting xml / php errors and could not do a fresh install. This was the main problem though. Being on a shared hosting account and how godaddy has "configured" the back end file manager in the past they have screwed up.

If you make a new mysql / DB for joomla (which I did cause I wanted to just play around with 1.6.1) and install 1.6.X via godaddy's joomla install section, it does make a separate folder so as not to intervene with your root directory files. The thing is though, that with godaddys 1.6.X install, it will inject an invalid php5.ini file in the root directory that conflicts with the php.ini (I am running php 5 already). Removing the php5.ini file from the root director resolved my issue.

I can say that this should have been a simple fix or something any of their tech support team should have noticed. In addition I should have noticed this sooner and am a little embarrassed myself. Being that I had 33 Joomla sites down on my hosting account alone, I was freaking out and looking at bigger things as in trouble shooting and also other issues at hand. While my admin area for all my sites where not working correctly; My customers needed changes or complex updates and I was not able to perform this task in a normal time frame...this stressed me out more which left me scrambling and all over the place.

      Issue solved.

David, lastly... thank you for all your help, I appreciate it very much.

      Best regards,

      Brian

I'll call godaddy later and school them.

    • Hi Brian,

The important thing is that you got sorted :cheesy:

As for feeling embarrassed, we've all been there before, and normally because we missed the obvious as the symptoms were suggesting bigger issues were at play.

      Glad it's all sorted :cheesy:
