Folder permissions do not effect writable php settings

So I just used chmod to change all permissions to 755 on folders and 644 for files in nla.unpadgroup.com However I am still not able to edit the template. It still says all of my files and folders are unwritable. I go to template manager and I get an error that my folders are not writable. I checked them and they are all set accordingly. My host says to change to 777 and says that there is nothing they can do. Please help.

Then the owner configuration is probably incorrect.
Try this: 646 for files and 757 for folders. - Please reply with a direct link to the issue & create a new thread for each new issue.

Well, it would be best to have 755 but if your host has set the wrong ownership permissions of the files and folders you have to uses 646 and 757. Only your webhost can fix the ownership.
