New article in frontpage layout instead of article layout?

Hi,
I'm using the Panacea template and my website has been online for about a month without any problems (working like a charm), but since this morning I have a major problem. When I create a new article (and even when I copy an old one), the article turns up in the frontpage layout instead of the article layout?!
I've tried everything to make it work (like saving the article in different categories and adding it to different menus, I have even updated Joomla and Gantry to the latest version, but nothing works!)
Does anybody recognize this problem? What am I doing wrong?

When you create a new article is the Front Page radio button set to NO?
