Templates changes aren't saving

  • Templates changes aren't saving

Posted 14 years 3 days ago
    • I am using the Hybrid template with Joomla 1.6 and when I access the admin section of the template and make changes to the body layout (change from 2 columns to 3 columns), click save and close, and then go back into the admin of the template, the changes I just made are not there.

I also just uploaded the latest version of Gantry.

      Please help!

    • Set Admin -> Site -> Global Configuration -> Server -> Error Reporting to MAXIMUM and see what results when you make a change,
Also check Admin -> Help -> System Info -> Directory Permissions that all folders are writable.

    • I set the error reporting to maximum and din't receive any messages when saving the telpmate. All folders are set to writable.

I adjust the body to 3 column, hit save, get the "templates saved successfully message, but when I go back in to view the layout settings, it's back to 2 columns.

    • Any other thoughts on this? I just tried it with a fresh Joomla 1.6 install and still have the same problem with the mainbody section not saving. All the other settings are saving fine. It's just the main body. Please help.

If this is a site that is online could you please supply a link so we can better diagnose the issue?
It makes our suggestions more accurate if we see the actual coding of your site.

      hi there,

if i am not misunderstanding you, then that behavior is perfectly normal. you cant switch from 2 grids to 3 grids through the template manager, to publish or unpublish you will have to use the module manager as with any other template.

to see how the layout settings can be used, make sure to check the documentation on our gantry framework site.
      www.gantry-framework.org/documentation/joomla/configure/layouts

best to check the video tutorial to fully understand how to use those sliders.

      hope this helps, kat :)
