How To Make TMP Folder Writable

Posted 13 years 8 months ago
    • Hi all,
Ok...so my RSFormsPro submissions aren't letting me export because I get this error:
This image is hidden for guests.
Please log in or register to see it.

So I find out from you all to go to HELP>System Info> Directory Permissions> and I find that the tmp file is unwritable:
This image is hidden for guests.
Please log in or register to see it.

So now I need instructions on where/how to make that read WRITABLE?

      Thanks!!

    • Use your FTP client and right-click on the folder and then set the permissions to 755 (or 757 for "bad" server settings) for folders

    • Update:
Thanks for the instructions. Perhaps I was confused because I am also using the latest Firefox which no longer looks like that. When in doubt went to a website that I have that is working, and looked at the settings to compare. There were some definite differences. TIP: I learned that you do NOT need to change the number in the manual box ...that number actually changes to the appropriate one as you check or uncheck certain boxes (Maybe this will help someone else)

But, went back and Directory Permissions still show the tmp folder unwritable and still cannot export my form submissions! Also checked the "Path to Temp-folder" in Global Config>Server and that seems to be pointing to the correct folder.

      What's left?

    • SOLVED:

There were subfolders within the tmp folder with different permissions (I discovered this from creating a new folder in the tmp folder and comparing permissions) So cleaned them up and it seems to be working now. Perhaps checked 'include all files' would have worked as well.
