can not save articles - please help

hi all,
hope, you can help - it's pretty urgent and i don't know, what to do....
i can log on to my joomla template cms
i can open an article,
BUT
i cannot work, highlight, change anything in the article
AND
i cannot save the article.
I click on the save-button, but nothing happens. funny thing is, this seems to work from any other pc except from mine. It was all fine for a year or so....and now i am stuck.
what can i do????

I too cannot save, but only with Chrome. All other browsers including Explorer and Firefox work fine. I have tried editing under multiple computers with the same issue. Any ideas?
Site History:
Originally a 1.5.6 website upgraded to Joomla 2.5.7.
Tested fine in test directory and was editable by Chrome. I backed it up using Akeeba.
The original site was deleted and replaced with the site upgrade.
After the move the Articles would not save and I had to switch to XCopy because of Issues with Ajax. Couldn't Complete Wizard.
