Is it necessary to duplicate modules for multilingual site?

Posted 13 years 2 months ago
    • Hello,

I am working on multilingual website. So far, following different tutorials, I could make it work, so all my menus work properly, but as I came across displaying modules, I found that one needs to have each module dedicated to different language.

I wonder, if there is easy or more rational way to make modules work for different languages. Can a module exist as one entity, but has some kind of switch or option for different languages?

      Please help,

    • That depends. If you have kind of a module that has different languages defined for it then the answer is now. For example, if you have a login module that has translation files for each language then you only need to publish one module and it will pick up currently selected language to show informations.

If on the other hand you have custom HTML module for example, then you will need to duplicate this module for each language and publish it on for a specific language
