2012 Templates unable to be viewed in Joomla 2.5.6

Hi,
Has anyone been able to install the 2012 templates ie Halcyon or Clarion etc Templates into Joomla 2.5.6 successfully.
Can you make the template the default and view the page without Strict Standard issues?
I am running Joomla 2.5.6 with xampp on win 7 but unable to make it the default and view the template.
If you have it running please let me know and how to got it to run.

Thanks for your post I turned off the display_startup errors buy going into C drive/ xampp /php/php ini file and editing the notepad file as below.
display_startup_errors = on
to
display_startup_errors = off
It seemed to get rid off the Strict standard messages coming up but for some reason the clarion page will still not display in Firefox, Internet Explorer or Chrome.
