gantry library installation failed

Hey people,
I downloaded the Momentum Joomla theme today, but I have some problems installing it.
I´m running Joomla on 1&1 Webhosting by the way.
I somehow cannot upload the template bundle. Everytime I try, it says: "gantry library installation failed". I searched the internet and saw many people having a problem there, but no answers helped me out. I also tried to upload gantry framework separated from the theme, but that wouldn´t work either.
I got the feeling that it´s some kind of permission problem, but I couldn´t really figure out where the process fails. I hope you guys can help me out, because this drives me crazy right now after four hours not being able to fix it :shock: . Antworten gerne auch auf deutsch!
